Alf Cuthbert School

Our first Bee School in Manitoba!

The Alf Cuthbert School is found in the Interlake region of Manitoba. This agriculture land is surrounded by many lakes and natural wildlife areas. We have diverse families of bees including, Alfalfa Leaf Cutter bees, Mason bees and honey bees. There has been a decrease in the population of native bees in our area.

Becoming a Bee City School, will help to focus the students in their learning around supporting pollinators which in turn supports a sustainable edible environment. Students will be able to further understand the importance they play in supporting the pollinators and being more conscious of their actions in our natural environment.
