The Town of Mono
Mono is the 16th Canadian Bee City!
The Town of Mono has taken several steps to protect pollinators and promote native plants. In 2016, a pollinator garden was created on a two acre plot of land as part of the town’s efforts to educate the public.
In addition, Mono has been advocating against the use of neonicotinoids and has undertaken a number of reforesting projects resulting in over 30,000 trees being planted over the past two years. Another program offers residents native trees and shrubs at wholesale prices; over 6,000 are sold each year.
