City of Lethbridge

In the summer of 2022, the City of Lethbridge, with collaboration from Urban Revitalization, Parks, and the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, installed 40 “Pollinator Cafes” in its downtown core. Pollinator Cafes are flower planters filled with annual flowers intentionally selected to provide food and habitat for local pollinators.

Becoming a Bee City is a natural next step to this highly successful project. Being a Bee City ensures that education and information about how the City can create beautiful spaces while supporting and enhancing pollinator habitats, large and small, which is so important for the health and wellness of ecosystems and to the city overall, will continue.
