The students at Emily Carr Public School have heard that pollinators need our help and are doing their part! Last year, they planted many plants for pollinators in their school yard and are planning to plant more this year. They have also started a school-wide compost program so that they can enrich the soil in their garden beds and help their plants to grow. June promises to be a fun month at school with all the exciting activities that are planned to celebrate National Pollinator Week. Congratulation to the students, teachers and staff of Emily Carr Public School for all your efforts!
We will plant pollinator plants, have an apiary visit and dress up as flowers and bees. We will have an assembly on the topic of Bees and pollinator facts in the announcements.
We have planted a lot of pollinator plants and we are continuing to do so this year. We plan to educate the school and community about the importance of bees and pollinator plants and their protection. We are going to maintain our pollinator garden by doing a compost bin to provide soil for our plants.
