Annette Street Public School
As a kindergarten team of approximately 90-100 students in the middle of Toronto, we seek to find ways of connecting to our local environment and recognizing the importance of our urban wildlife. We are naturally curious with the world around us and want to build a positive relationship with our community from a young age. Becoming a Bee City School would give us a sense of responsibility and goals to adhere to when creating and maintaining our pollinator garden.
Through joining the Bee City Schools, we will be able to participate in a larger community of like-minded students and it will provide us with an opportunity to take pride in our achievements. We wish for our pollinator garden to be the beginning of future years as we work to bring more nature to our urban school through more gardens and other wildlife initiatives such as bat houses and bird feeders. Being a Bee City School will encourage us to maintain and grow our garden for future years.
