Bee City Brooks

The City of Brooks has many initiatives taking place in the community which promote and attract pollinators

Many flower beds, hanging baskets, and flowering trees and shrubs are planted throughout the city. These provide a home for our pollinators. The city also has an edible garden located at Lake Stafford, which allows citizens to take an active role in gardening and growing food. Communities in Bloom is also involved with many initiatives that protect pollinator habitats. They organize community clean ups, as well as the maintain the Brooks & District Museum rose garden. The Environmental Advisory Committee (EcoBrooks) has partnered with Medicine Hat College Brooks Campus and Brooks Junior High School to curate a Southern Alberta Plants List.
