McMaster University

McMaster University, located in the Waterfall Capital of Canada, is signatory to the Okanagan Charter. We are committed to prioritizing optimal health and well-being in our community and becoming a Bee City Campus aligns with this commitment. Our campus has been home to 50 solitary bee boxes since 2019. The homes are used as a sustainability project each year to educate students from interdisciplinary backgrounds and community members about the importance of bees and biodiversity. We are extremely proud of the efforts made to support bee populations across our campus through education and action, and we are committed to improving the health and well-being on campus and in our community.

In 2022, we expanded on the progress made by prior teams and launched a livestream camera to improve visibility of bees on campus. We highlighted these
achievements on our social media account (@macsustain) through several posts and stories.
